Parallel Lines- two lines that never intersect and have the same slope
1. What problems would there be in your picture if the lines were not parallel?
If the lines were not parallel then the lines would intersect therefore music could not be properly played on the guitar,
2. Are the lines cut by a transversal?
No the lines are not cut by a transversal.
3. Explain how the lines in the picture are parallel.
The lines have the same slope and therefore never intersect.
4. Can you identify any angles in your picture? If so, what kind?
No angles are formed from the guitar string as they are six parallel and never intersect.
5. How do you prove lines parallel?
You prove lines parallel by calculating the slope, if the two slopes are equal then the lines are parallel.
